STAY HYDRATED.

One of the easiest ways to improve the health of your hair is to stay hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water each day.  Your body needs between 6 and 8 glasses of water each day to keep its cells hydrated and healthy.    Dehydration leads to dry lifeless hair, while hydrated and well-watered cells create hair that is full of moisture.

BE CHOOSY ABOUT HAIR PRODUCTS.

Choose good quality shampoos and conditioners that are designed to put moisture back into your hair.  The more natural the ingredients are, the better.  Avoid shampoos and conditioners that contain sulfates and heavy amounts of chemicals.  These can dry your hair and scalp and end up doing more damage than good.

EXERCISE.

Exercising a few times a week will improve your circulation which will benefit your entire body, including your hair.  An active lifestyle allows the blood to carry vital oxygen and nutrients to the hair.  Whether it's walking, swimming, running, biking, an exercise class, or some other sport, just a little activity can make a big difference.

EAT A HEALTHY DIET.

It's true.....you are what you eat.  If your hair is in bad condition, it can indicate an unhealthy diet.  Junk food diets often lead to either very greasy hair or very dry hair.  Instead, try to consume a diet that is rich in Omega fatty acids and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables which are loaded with vitamins and minerals.  These fatty acids, vitamins and minerals will give your hair a boost of strength and flexibility and prevent your scalp from becoming dry and flaky.  You can also take a daily vitamin and mineral supplement that is rich in vitamin A and B, iron, selenium, zinc, and folic acid.

CHOOSE NATURAL MOISTURIZING PRODUCTS.

When choosing products to add moisture to your hair, select those that are in their most natural state.  Some of the best natural hair products include shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and jojoba oil.   Rosemary and lavender are also wonderful additions that add a soft fragrance to your hair.
